Threshold to Hope, Inc., the nonprofit organization devoted to hope and healing through art, is celebrating 6 Years of service to the community through art on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, August 5th from 10-2 PM at our studio in the Creativity Center, located at 107 E. Chestnut St., Bloomington, Illinois. This First Friday event is free and open to the public. Free parking will also be available in the lot directly behind the Creativity Center, one block east of Main Street on Locust Street, past the Holy Trinity Parish Center.
We cordially invite community members, friends and families, and art lovers of all ages to join us in our celebration. The event will feature an open house, door prizes, and a SAS sale to raise fund for our upcoming year. Since it’s a party, refreshments will be served!
The SAS sale (Surplus Art Supplies) will feature lots of rubber stamps, scrapbook paper, wood shapes, and many other supplies that we are not currently using.
We will also be showing art from more than 15 different artists that can be purchased. Artist sales benefit both the artist and Threshold to Hope.
Threshold to Hope, Inc. has been offering hope and healing through the power of art since its beginning in 2017. Founded by Nora and Dave Zaring, Threshold to Hope welcomes adults in Bloomington-Normal and surrounding communities to discover art in a creative and supportive environment. All supplies needed to create are provided. Art sessions are currently Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-2 PM and Wednesday Evenings from 6-8 PM at the Creativity Center, 107 E Chestnut, Bloomington. All art classes are “pay what you can”, but no one ever turned away for lack of funds. Our program is sustained through monetary and in-kind donations, art sales, workshops, and a grant from Illinois Prairie Community Foundation.
