Our sports landscape features a diverse lineup of venues capable of hosting a wide range of events. Facilities include Champion Fields, a premier baseball and softball complex with up to 10 tournament-ready diamonds; CEFCU Arena and Hancock Stadium at Illinois State University; Shirk Center at Illinois Wesleyan University; and Grossinger Motors Arena, home of the Bloomington Bison. These venues support everything from basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and track to hockey, figure skating, cheerleading, football, baseball, and softball.
Bloomington-Normal is also proud of its longstanding partnership with the Illinois High School Association, helping host some of the state’s most recognized championship events for decades. Alongside IHSA competitions, the community regularly welcomes major events such as Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games, NCAA Division III Championships, Illinois Top Times Track & Field, Midwest National Wrestling tournaments, and numerous youth and amateur state finals.
