First up, we stopped by DR McKay’s Bar and Grill for lunch. This place is a must-visit spot located at 909 North Hershey Road, Bloomington, IL. Their award-winning chicken wings, salads, burgers, and BLTs were absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great meal in town.

Next, we visited the Central Illinois Regional Airport and it was such a great experience! This welcoming and easy-to-navigate airport makes travel simple for anyone coming to or leaving Bloomington-Normal. From the moment you arrive, the welcoming atmosphere makes travel stress-free. The airport is well-organized and so convenient. It’s the perfect start or end to any trip.

Today is also National Transit Driver Appreciation Day, and we’re giving a big shoutout to our amazing Connect Transit drivers! Their dedication helps keep our community moving, with buses conveniently located at spots around Bloomington-Normal, including the Central Illinois Regional Airport, the Tan Route has you covered! Having reliable public transit is such a great asset to our area!

There’s even an Illinois State University gallery showcasing incredible works by local artists, creating a cultural experience right inside the terminal.
