40th Annual Sugar Creek Arts Festival
Sugar Creek Arts Festival has been nationally recognized for its excellence and is a juried exhibition showcasing fine art and fine crafts from local, regional, and national artists. Professional artists external to the McLean County Arts Center serve as paid jurors.
Each year, over 20,000 people fill the streets of Uptown Normal for this free community event featuring more than 100 locally and nationally acclaimed artists, two live music stages, food trucks, and much more!
The festival was first held in 1983 by the Town of Normal as a way to drive traffic to Uptown while the students were away for the summer. What started as 16 artists selling from the trunks of their cars in 1983 has now been ranked as one of the nation’s top 100 arts festivals and draws upwards of 20,000 attendees yearly.
