We’re excited to welcome local author Abby Lattanzio to the shop for a meet & greet and book signing! She is the author of two books: “The Elementals” (a young adult fantasy novel for fans of “Avatar, the Last Airbender” & “The Wall of Ascension” by Brandon Sanderson) and “Remember Me Tomorrow” (an adult fiction novel for fans of “The Meaning of Birds” by Jaye Robin Brown & “We Are Okay” by Nina Lacour). Both books will be available for purchase during the event!

About “The Elementals”: Eastport, a place of former peace, has rapidly turned its back on natural power wielders known as “elementals.” Under the rule of domineering Magistrate Rufus, elementals are subject to fates of imprisonment, death, and forced exposure to a mysterious substance known as eusgare. While the future continues to look grim for elementals, the ocean tides seem to have other plans. Four brothers, united by royal blood and a shared goal of restoring the kingdom, must find a way to work together before it is too late.

About “Remember Me Tomorrow”: Dawn refuses to talk about The Incident. The Incident is the reason she left five years ago and the cause for her ill-timed panic attacks. She intends to keep it locked away in the deep, dark corners of her mind where it can never bother her again. And so far, this method has worked. Ignoring things always makes it better, right? As Dawn’s memories of The Incident come trickling in after years of repression, she finds herself in a precarious position. Having lost her job, she decides it’s time to return to the place she’s vowed to never step foot in again: her hometown. Returning home means confronting The Incident head on. Yet, Dawn knows that if she doesn’t go back home, right now, something irreparable will happen. Something that, this time, she could maybe prevent. Begrudgingly, Dawn begins her arduous trek home. Can she finally make peace with her past before her inner demons consume her?

About the Author: Hailing from central Illinois, Abby has been writing since junior high, when she learned the stories in her head could become something more. She graduated from Northland College with a degree in writing and is a cellist in her local orchestra. She is often found hiking, reading, watching New Girl, or crafting, and is owned by two cats who barely tolerate each other.
